As tradition dictates (2009, 2010, 2011), I’ve once again tried to arrange my favorite movies from last year in order of ”greatness”, i.e. how much I liked them. However, I thought 2012 was a mediocre film year, so the post title is even more accurate than usual – many of these are only pretty good (especially towards the bottom of the list). I did thoroughly enjoy the top five or so, but even the year’s best movie – Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master – didn’t really improve on There Will Be Blood, did it?
